Marino Software Ltd is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accross our EU and UK operations by 2050.
This is the first year Marino Software Ltd calculated its full GHG emissions footprint, using the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.
Scope 1 and 2 emissions are calculated from energy usage at our Dublin office.
Scope 3 emissions cover employee commuting, home working, business travel, and cloud infrastructure emissions.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease to 20 tCO₂e by 2030, a reduction of 50% from our 2023 baseline.
We aim to halve our emissions by 2030 and fully offset remaining residual emissions annually from 2040, achieving net zero by 2050.
- Transition to a hybrid remote-first model, reducing commuting and office energy use.
- Adoption of virtual-first meetings with clients and staff to minimise travel.
- Audit of cloud services to encourage sustainable software development practices and reduce unnecessary compute time.
- Migration to cloud providers with 100% renewable energy commitments (i.e. Amazon WebServices – Marino Software is an AWS Partner).
- Adoption of energy-efficient workspace lighting and heating controls.
- Regular developer training on sustainable software engineering practices.
- Implementation of a formal Green Travel Policy to favour rail over air where feasible.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and its associated guidance and reporting standard. Emissions have been reported and recorded using the GHG Protocol and relevant UK Government conversion factors. Scope 1 and 2 emissions comply with SECR, and required Scope 3 categories align with the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
