FAQs

Before we talk.

Quick answers to the things teams usually ask before getting in touch.

  • Where are you based, and do you work outside Ireland?

We're based in Glasnevin, Dublin. Roughly half our work is for Irish organisations; the rest sits across the UK and the EU. We're remote-friendly by default and on-site when it helps, especially during discovery.

  • How big is a typical Marino team?

Small. Most engagements run with a blended pod of five to nine people, strategy, design and engineering together, and you work with them directly. The people making decisions are the people doing the work.

  • How long is a typical engagement?

It varies more than we'd like to admit. Our shorter Accelerators (Migrate, FHIR Bridge, and the others) wrap in six to eight weeks. Custom delivery work usually runs a few months to a year, and a few of our longest partnerships, PTSB and Iarnród Éireann among them, are now multi-year. We don't push for length when it isn't warranted.

  • Do you do fixed-scope or time-and-materials?

Both, depending on what fits. Discovery is almost always fixed-scope, two to four weeks for a costed delivery plan. After that, fixed-scope works well for clear briefs (most Accelerators); T&M with a capped budget works better for longer, more exploratory builds. We talk this through in discovery rather than picking before we understand the problem.

  • How do you handle NDAs and confidentiality?

Happy to sign one before we get into anything substantive, your template or ours. We're ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 certified, so the controls cover everyone who touches your material as standard, not as a one-off.

  • What happens after I submit this form?

You'll hear back from us within two working days. From there, a 30-minute call to understand what you're trying to ship. You'll come out of it with a clearer view of next steps, whether or not those involve us.
