Last updated 27 August 2026

This is the website privacy notice of Marino Software Limited. In this document, ‘we’, ‘our’ and ‘us’ refer to Marino Software Limited.

We are company number 426161, registered in Ireland. Our registered office is at DCU Alpha, Old Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, Ireland, D11 KXN4.

This notice covers personal data collected through your use of this website only.

Introduction

This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, how we use it and how we protect it. It covers information that could identify you (‘personal data’) and information that could not. ‘Process’ means collect, store, transfer, use or otherwise act on information.

All visitors to our website are entitled to know that their personal data will not be used for any purpose unintended by them, and will not be shared with a third party except as described below.

This notice complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If any part of this notice is unclear, or you have questions about how we handle your personal data, contact us at info@marinosoftware.com.

The bases on which we process your information

When you browse our website or complete a contact form, we rely on your consent to process any personal data you provide.

Wherever practical, we ask for your explicit consent — for example, when you accept our use of non-essential cookies or opt in to marketing communications. Where you have not given explicit consent, we do not use your information in any way that would identify you personally.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@marinosoftware.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Legitimate interests

We may process information where we have a legitimate interest in doing so and that interest is not overridden by your rights and freedoms. Before relying on this basis we consider:

  • whether the same objective could reasonably be achieved by other means
  • whether processing might cause you harm
  • whether you would reasonably expect us to process your data in this way

We rely on legitimate interests for purposes including:

  • administering and improving our website
  • responding to enquiries submitted through the site
  • maintaining the security of our website and systems

Where we are required to process information collected through this website to comply with a statutory obligation — for example, in response to a lawful request from a public authority — we will do so.

Specific uses of information collected through this website

Payment information

We do not collect, hold or process card or bank payment details through our website.

Contacting us through the website

When you contact us through this website — via a contact form or the email address it links to — we collect the information you provide in order to respond and to keep an accurate record of correspondence. We keep identifiable information such as your name and email address so we can track our communications with you and provide a consistent service.

Enquiries submitted through the website may be shared internally with the Marino colleagues best placed to respond, and may be added to our customer relationship management (CRM) system for the purposes of managing our correspondence with you.

Complaints about the website

Where a complaint relates to this website — for example, its content, accessibility or functionality — we record the information you provide and use it to investigate and respond. If resolving the complaint reasonably requires us to share information with a third party, we do so on a minimum-necessary basis.

Cookies and information collected through automated systems

Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They allow information gathered on one page to be used on another, and help us understand how the site is being used.

We use two categories of cookies on our website:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to function correctly, set automatically. They do not require your consent.
  • Optional cookies — used for analytics and to help us understand how visitors use our site. Set only where you have given consent.

When you first visit our website, a consent banner (provided by iubenda) asks whether you accept the use of optional cookies. You can review or change your choices at any time using the cookie preferences link in the footer of our site.

Most browsers also allow you to view, manage and delete cookies through their settings. If you block all cookies, some parts of the site may not function as intended.

Information from your browsing activity

When your browser requests pages or content from our servers, we record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device characteristics and referring pages. We use this information in aggregate to understand how the website is used and to improve it. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Who we share your information with

Internal sharing

Information you submit through the website is shared internally with the Marino colleagues who need to see it to respond to your enquiry or manage our relationship with you. All Marino staff are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Processors we use

We use a small number of third-party processors to help us operate this website. These currently include providers of:

  • website hosting

Each processor is bound by a written data processing agreement and processes personal data only on our instructions.

Hosting and data location

Our website is and hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the eu-west-1 (Ireland) region. Personal data submitted through the site is processed within the European Economic Area (EEA).

Some of the other processors we use may be established outside the EEA. Where any transfer of personal data outside the EEA takes place, we do so under the safeguards permitted by the GDPR — typically the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, supplemented where necessary by additional technical and organisational measures.

Your rights over your information

Under the GDPR you have the following rights in respect of personal data we hold about you:

  • the right to be informed about how we process your data (this notice)
  • the right of access to the data we hold about you
  • the right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data

  • the right to restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • the right to data portability
