DUBLIN, IRELAND – 15 February 2026 – Marino Software, a leading Irish provider of compliant cloud, mobile and AI solutions based on the DCU:Innovate campus in Glasnevin, Dublin, today announced it has joined the CellConnect consortium, to deliver the critical digital infrastructure for a first-of-its-kind Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) supply chain in Ireland.
Funded by the Irish Government’s €500 million Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF), the CellConnect project represents a €6.58 million investment in national health infrastructure. Marino Software joins existing partners HiTech Health and the University of Galway to replace manual, paper-based processes with a high-security, cloud-native platform designed to manage the "just-in-time" delivery of life-saving cell and gene therapies.
This partnership aligns with Marino Software’s mission of “software, made human,” focusing on utilising technology to solve citizen-critical challenges. Joining the CellConnect consortium reinforces Marino’s status as a proven digitalisation partner for high-compliance sectors.
"Our vision is to make lives better through software that is as secure as it is intuitive," said Cara Ludlow, COO with Marino Software. "CellConnect is more than a technical challenge; it is about building breakthrough infrastructure that ensures patients can access transformative treatments. We are bringing our deep expertise in high-value, secure systems - from banking to healthcare and public transport - to ensure Ireland leads the global landscape in ATMP manufacturing and management."
Current ATMP manufacturing faces significant bottlenecks, particularly in sourcing starting materials like lipoaspirates, which must be processed within 48 hours. Marino Software will develop the CellConnect Cloud, a secure, GxP-compliant end-to-end traceability platform that provides:
"Digitalisation is no longer optional for ATMP manufacturing, it is foundational," said Paul Loftus, R&D Manager with HiTech Health and Project Manager on CellConnect. “End-to-end digital traceability ensures that every process step, every decision, and every test is visible, auditable, and controlled. This level of transparency is essential not only for regulatory compliance, but for patient safety and scalable, sustainable delivery of advanced therapies. So it is fantastic to have Marino Software partnering with us to deliver this essential component.”
By solving current supply chain bottlenecks, such as the requirement to process human tissue within 48 hours of collection, CellConnect provides a robust, "just-in-time" digital and physical infrastructure. This breakthrough infrastructure is designed to reduce treatment costs and position Ireland as a global centre of excellence for the next generation of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
Dr Ruth Levey, a Lead Researcher at the University of Galway, added: “At the University of Galway, our multidisciplinary team is developing the preservation and controlled transport systems required to safely manage starting materials and living cell therapies from collection through to manufacture and delivery. By integrating this work with Marino’s secure digital platform, we are establishing a fully traceable, quality-assured infrastructure that strengthens Ireland’s capacity to reliably scale advanced therapy production.”
The University of Galway team is led by Prof. Garry Duffy and Dr. Ruth Levey, with Dr. Ruth Tarpey playing a key role in design optimisation and translational integration across the project.
Based at the DCU:Innovate Hub, Marino Software is ISO 27001, 27017, and 9001 accredited. The company has a storied history of delivering high-stakes digital tools, including:
